Yebisu Garden Place

Yebisu Garden Place is one of the major tourist attractions of Tokyo, Japan. As the name suggests, it is not a garden but an area filled with numerous skyscrapers. The high-rises are fine examples of modern architecture. This area is often referred to as "the city within the city". It is a great place to hang around with friends and relatives.

The Yebisu Garden Place actually is an area with varieties of restaurants, mitsukoshi department store, the westin hotel, offices, two museums, hotel and residential area. .It has all the basic amenities of a modern life. It occupies an area of 8.3 hectare and has many high, middle and low buildings, which has gradually made it one of major modern landmark of Tokyo.   -   One of the major attractions of Yebisu Garden Place is the Garden Place Tower. The tower is 164m high with an area of 3,800 square meters. In garden place tower you can enjoy lunch, dinner or snacks at the 38th and 39th floor restaurants while glancing at the modern Tokyo skyline.

  -   The other preferred centre of attraction in Yebisu Garden Place is the Beer Station. It has six different drinking establishments. It is a three storey red brick building with a sitting capacity for 1,500 guests. You can also visit the Beer Museum Yebisu .You don't require any fees to enter the beer museum. The museum tells about the science and history of beer brewing all over the world. It also offers for free beer tasting.

  -   You can also visit the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography .It also has a workshop for film processing and a library.

Yebisu was actually the name of the beer produced by the Nippon Beer Brewery co, now known to be as Sapporo Breweries ltd gradually the entire area came to be known as Yebisu. So, it can be said that the famous brewery has taken a new birth as Yebisu Garden Place. It is established on the former location of the beer brewery.

Getting there

  -   Yebisu garden place is very well connected by public transportation. It hardly takes a 5 minutes walk from Ebisu Station. It is connected with the Ebisu station by Yebisu skywalk.

  -   Moreover if you are visiting Yebisu Garden Place by train then you should get down at JR Ebisu station or Ebisu station situated on the Eidan subway Hibiya Line. It takes a 5minutes walk from the east exit of JR Ebisu station to reach Yebisu garden place if you use the Yebisu skywalk.

  -   If you are visiting Yebisu garden place then it is better to get off at the Shuto Expressway situated at Tengenji. Although Yebisu Garden Place provides parking facilities for about 1,900 vehicles. Then also, you may have to face parking problem especially on holidays.
