Matsuoka Museum of Art

Matsuoka Museum of Art was inaugurated in the year 1975.The museum was established mainly to display the collection of Korean pottery, Persian pottery, Indian pottery, paintings and also stone work of the Roman and Greek period. Those collections were, basically, the private collections of Matsuoka Kiyojiro. Matsuoka Museum of Art is the main museum from where one can gain knowledge about the various beautiful, elegant and colorful potteries of India, Egypt, Greece and China.
Timings:
The museum remains open from 10:00am -5:00 pm. The Matsuoka Museum of art remains closed on Monday. If a national holiday falls on a Monday, then the museum is kept open for public viewing. You have to at least enter the museum 30 minutes before the closing time.
Ticket price:
The adults have to pay 800 yen to get into the museum, while the students can get into the museum by paying a sum of 500 yen. If you are visiting the museum in a group of 20 or above then you can avail the discount facility. The Matsuoka Museum of Art also offers reduced fees for the people above 65 years of age and also for the physically and mentally challenged people.
Getting there:
From the Shirokanedai Station of Subway Namboku line or Mita line, the Matsuoka Museum of Art is hardly 6 minutes walking distance.
You can also visit the Matsuoka Museum of Art by taking a bus for Sendagaya or Shimbashi station from the east gate of JR Megro Station of Yamanote line .It is better to get down at Todai-Ikaken-Byoin-Nishimon bus stop to pay a visit to the Matsuoka Museum of Art.
The Matsuoka Museum of Art provides parking facilities only for the visitors of the museum.
