The Yokohama Maritime Museum is a major historical museum of Tokyo. Located in the Yokohama district of the city, this museum attracts a large number of tourist's every year. If you like to sail, then you can go for ride on the four-masted Nippon-Maru ship, which is docked close by. This ship was built in 1930 as a training ship for the students of the merchant marines. This ship is 96 meters or rather 320 feet long and is indeed one of the biggest attractions of the museum. The Yokohama Maritime Museum is open on all days and is closed on the fourth Monday. The Maru is however closed fully on Mondays. The museum is pretty huge and hence takes nearly one hour to see the entire museum. The visiting hours of the museum are form 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. One has to purchase a ticket in order ton gain entry into the museum. The rates for adults are 600 Yen or $5 and for children it is 300 Yen or $2.50. Getting to the Yokohama maritime Museum is easy. You can take a train to the Minatomirai station and walk from there. It just takes five minutes to reach this place. You can also take a train to the Sakuragicho Station and then walk for a few minutes before arriving at this place. The Yokohama Maritime Museum with its numerous displays, charts and models are worth paying a visit when on a vacation to this place.
