Akasaka is Tokyo's central residential and business district, with corporate headquarters and exclusive hotels. This area is close to Nagatacho, which is Tokyo's prime concentration of bureaucracy. Akasaka also houses a number of embassies like United States of America, Canada and Spain.

Akasaka-Mitsuke station on the Metro Ginza and Marunouchi subway lines is at the edge of Akasaka. The station is linked by a tunnel to Nagatacho station on the Namboku, Hanzomon and Yurakucho lines. Tameike-Sanno (Namboku/Ginza) is also in the area and a good access point for Itsunoki-dori. So getting here is not much of a problem.

There are a number of sightseeing places in Akasaka. You must visit Akasaka Palace and State Guest House where the government of Tokyo accommodates visiting state dignitaries. The Ark Hills is one of the main office developments of Mori Building in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan. This building houses the ANA Tokyo Hotel, the ARK Mori Building, a world-class Suntory Hall, a TV studio and various other apartment buildings. The Suntory Hall is a musical concert Hall built in late 70s and the early 80s.

Nogi Shrine and the Tokyo Midtown Project, which is currently the tallest skyscraper in Tokyo are other places of attraction here. But the most famous tourists' destination here is the Hie Shrine. This shrine holds the Sanno Matsuri festival once a year and features the usual panoply of music, dance and yatai stalls and stake. Akasaka also has a few impressive buildings like the Akasaka Park Tower, the modern TBS building, etc. Akasaka also has the highest concentration of first- class hotels in Tokyo like the Akasaka Prince Hotel, Ana Akasaka Hotel, Akasaka Excel Hotel Tokyo, and others.

Akasaka was once the most renowned entertainment district in Tokyo, even today it draws thousands of Tokyoites and travelers seeking a comfortable place to relax after a hard day's work.

The Korean barbeques with exclusive bars and high-class Japanese restaurants are crowded with tourists at night. The nightlife here is vibrant and hustling. There are quite a number of restaurants, nightclubs and bars. You get traditional Japanese as well as other international cuisine like Mexican, Russian, Indian, Italian and so on.

In a nutshell this vibrant and lively district of Tokyo is not going to disappoint you.
