Gonpachi

Gonpachi has a chain of five restaurants in Tokyo. Its claim to fame is founded on stronger reasons than George Bush having dined in one of its restaurants. Each of the Gonpachi restaurants stands unique in its individuality. A feature common to all the Gonpachi restaurants is the ease with which they blend the old and the new. This merging of two worlds- otherwise sundered by temporal space- is reflected not only in the interior of the restaurants but also in the menu.

Some of the cuisines that adorn the menu of Gonpachi are-

  -   Sunomono - dishes prepared with vinegar, cucumber, wakame seaweed, shrimp and crab. Chiefly eaten as appetizers.
  -   Tsubugai - dishes prepared from shell fish. Tsubugai in Japanese means shell fish.
  -   Maguro - is a rice and fish Japanese preparation.
  -   Dashimaki - is rolled omelette
  -   Kakuni - braised pork belly
  -   Mehikari - Seven Spice Mixed Fish Fry
  -   Negima - Chicken & Green Onions, Soy-Based Sauce or Seasoned with Salt
  -   Asparagus - Green Asparagus Wrapped in Homemade Bacon
  -   Kuruma Ebi - Natural Tiger Prawn
  -   Gindara - Grilled Miso-Glazed Black Cod
  -   Hokke - Naturally Sun Dried Atka Mackerel

Gonpachi- G-Zone Ginza- located in 1-2-3Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 104-0061, the restaurant is situated in a kura, which is a traditional Japanese warehouse. The restaurant can accommodate 217 people at a time. The restaurant also has over 10 private rooms.

Gonpachi Nishi-Azabu- the theme of this restaurant plays on the pastoral culture where eating is part of a much larger extravaganza. The first two floors of the restaurant resemble a Japanese village where dining is accompanied by matsuri. The address to the restaurant is 1F, 2F, 1-13-11 Nishi-Azabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo 106-0031.
The three floors of Gonpachi Nishi-Azabu accommodate over 300 diners.

Gonpachi Odaiba- the enchanting ambience of the restaurant is heightened by the beauty of Odaiba, an island, in which the restaurant is located. The restaurant's address is 4F Mediage, 1-7-1 Odaiba Minato-ku, Tokyo 135-8718. The dining accommodation in Gonpachi Odaiba is 104 people. The restaurant also has a private room which can accommodate 12 people.

Gonpachi Shibuya- is located in 14F.E.Space Tower, 3-6, Maruyama-cho Shibuya-ku, Tokyo 150-0044. The restaurant has a capacity for 220 people, this includes seats in the seven private rooms as well.

Gonpachi Tenjin- is located in 5.6F?Tenjin Luce Bldg., 2-3-24 Tenjin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka-Shi, Fukuoka 810-0001. The maximum limit for the number of diners is 203.
