Nyuto Onsen Hot Spring in Japan
Nyuto Onsen Hot Spring in Japan is one of the most popular hot spring destinations. This resort is nestled in the mountains near Lake Tazawako in Akita Prefecture. Literally meaning nipple hot spring, Nyuto Onsen refers to the similar shaped Mount Nyuto, which has many hot springs famous in Japan and worldwide.

This hot spring resort in Towada-Hachimantai National Park of Tohuku exudes of a rustic ethnicity and idle beauty through its springs and Japanese inns dotting the forests. Legend speaks about Lake Tazawa, in which Tatsuko, a beautiful woman lives with her dragon husband and keeps the lake unfrozen by the heat of their passionate love. However, a spring is thought to be present at the bottom of the lake as well causing the heat effect.

Tsuru-no-yu Onsen- one of the hot springs in Japan

Tsuru-no-yu Onsen means Crane in the Hot Spring. Legend speaks of a hunter, named Kansuke who had seen a crane known as Tsuru, curing her wound in the hot water or Yu of the spring. Thus, this site was visited by the common men since 1701. Even the lord of Akita had come to the spring to recover from illness. In the past, the farmers used to enjoy the medicinal effect of the spring by staying in the inn. The inn later started offering meals to its guests.
You can also visit Ogama-onsen Hot Spring from where you can proceed towards Mt. Nyuto-san by traveling along Sendatsu-gawa River near Lake Tazawa-ko.

Kaniba-onsen Hot Spring and Magoroku-onsen Hot Spring with an open-air bath, also offer wonderful experiences of leisure and healing effect. Thus you should not miss out bathing in these hot-springs because you will be able to enjoy the therapeutic effect on your mind, soul and body.
