The Hikawa-Maru Museum, Yokohama is a very special museum. This museum is not a building made of concrete and stone chips, rather a ship built into a museum. This ship had served Japan for thirty long years between the years 1930 to 1960 with 25,000 total numbers of passengers. The most important part of the journey of this ship has been the service rendered by her in the Pacific War. During the war the ship now known as Hikawa-Maru Museum, Yokohama became a sailing hospital for the soldiers fighting the battle for Japan.

The Hikawa-Maru Museum, Yokohama was known as the "Queen of the Pacific" due to its service in the Pacific War. The Queen is serving till now but not as a hospital ship but as a museum where many visitors come by to get a glimpse of the captain's cabin, smoking rooms, passenger rooms, the infirmary and the bridge of the ship.
