With an average temperature of 16 degree Celsius, Yokohama is frequented almost
throughout the year by tourists. But the best time to visit Yokohama is during
Christmas and New Year celebrations.
During these times this city becomes spectacularly beautiful. With snow covered
streets and trees heavy with weight of snow, these festivals attract millions
of visitors to this beautiful city.
Stretching from 12 December to 19 February, Yokohama Dance Collection is a
major eye candy for tourists. This two month long festival sees individual as
well as solo performances by Japanese, Korean and Phillipino dancers.
As far as health and safety at Yokohama is concerned, a few guidelines can
be followed to avoid being in a precarious condition, especially during earthquake
as the city is prone to quakes. Though it is impossible to predict them, some
precautions can ensure your safety such as do not immediately rush out of a
building when earthquake hits and if a quake hits while you are walking along
a road, shift to the middle of that road.
