When to Visit Yokohama

No one likes to do sight seeing in rain. With heavy downpour in June, September and October; Yokohama becomes very problematic for tourists. So you would do well to schedule your travel itinerary leaving these three months.
The best time to visit Yokohama is during Christmas and New Year celebrations. During these times this city becomes spectacularly beautiful. With snow covered streets and trees heavy with weight of snow, these festivals attract millions of visitors to this beautiful city.
Stretching from 12 December to 19 February, Yokohama Dance Collection is a major eye candy for tourists. This two month long festival sees individual as well as solo performances by Japanese, Korean as Phillipino dancers.
January also sees MOT Annual festival. Young writers from all around Japan participate in this festival. If you are in Yokohama in January do not forget to visit here for a bit of intellectual exercise.
To commemorate the anniversary of Basic Treaty between Australia and Japan, dancers from both the countries participate in Dance Exchange. This festival provides a unique opportunity for the people of these countries to know more about each other's culture. The festival is a major tourist attraction on Yokohama's tourist calendar.
