The Hasseiden Museum, Yokohama is the only ethnological museum of Yokohama. Based on special regional themed exhibits, the museum is sure to enthrall you with an array of models based on the life of the fishing and the farming communities of Yokohama.

In the year 1933, the Hasseiden Museum, Yokohama came into existence as an endeavor by the politician, Kenzo Adachi. The most important thing about the museum, which grabs your attention are the statues. They resemble Nichiren, Shinran, Christ, Socrates, Prince Shotoku, Kobo, Sakyamuni and Confucius. They are known as the eight world sages who encircle a mirror, which is symbolic of the world.

The Hasseiden Museum, Yokohama is a display of the ethnicity of Yokohama which has combined all the cultures representing the statues. In spite of this the city has been able to preserve its own cultural identity

To get admission in the Hasseiden Museum, Yokohama you just need to be there at the entrance of the museum between 9.30-4pm, any day from Tuesday to Thursday. This much will be enough to get inside the museum. If you are wondering about the entrance tickets then don't because it's absolutely free.
