The Honmoku Fishing Park is located on Pier D of the Honmoku Docks, which is also referred to as the Honmoku Umizuri Shisetsu on the Yokohama waterfront. The Honmoku Fishing Park is an extremely popular fishing water destination, also referred to as the tsuibori. Located centrally on the Honmoku Fishing Park is the 150-feet tall Yokohama Port Symbol Tower which is as white as marble. The cost for all-day fishing on this locale amounts to JPY 1000, during most of the year.
One reason as to why fishing is a popular recreational facility in the summer months in the Honmoku Fishing Park is that the catches are poor. This is why fishing is free at this time of the year. Fishing rods, reels, lines and other equipment can be rented, and the bait is available for a fee. The Honmoku Pier was constructed between 1963 and 1970 with four jetties - A, B, C, and D - in a comb-like shape. It offers travelers with recreational facilities like the Yokohama Port Symbol Tower, and the Honmoku Fishing Jetty.
