Negishi Shinrin or the Negishi Forest Park is the place where imagination surpasses all artificially constructed boundaries. Located at Negishi-da 1-3, Naka Ku of Yokohama-shi in the Kanagawa Prefecture, the park is an ensemble of sweet potato pastures, daisies of different hues and woodlands. The Yokohama Race Club was established in the year of 1866. The tracks were designed in the occidental manner. This garden is also known as Negishi Keiba Kinen Koen which means Negishi Memorial Race Track Park in English. Horse racing in this track is the tale of past. Since the year of 1943 horse racing was banned from this race course. In the contemporary era, tourists can only witness the faded oval track and the blackened concrete stands.

After the end of the two devastating World Wars, a part of this piece of land was converted into a golf course. Green lives have found a zone of peace in this area of the island state.
