Jeju Independence Museum

South Korea - Daegu - Incheon - Jeju - Seoul - Daejeon
As the name suggests the Jeju Independence Museum displays exhibits relating to the fight for freedom by the Chechu-do inhabitants against the Japanese. The museum consists of exhibitions halls, which occupies two floors of the museum building. Apart from that, there is a small theater where a short film is screened about the independence struggle.

You can reach the Jeju Independence Museum in thirty minutes time. Take a bus from the Jeju City Terminal, where you will find Donghoeseon buses serving your purpose. The intra-city or inter-city bus on the Ilju road, where the terminal is located will take you to the Jeju Independence Museum. You have to get down at the Jocheon Gymnasium bus stop. There is another way to reach the Jeju Independence Museum that is by taking a taxi. If you are traveling to the museum directly form the Jeju International Airport then it will take you only half an hour to reach the Jeju Independence Museum.

The Jeju Independence Museum charges 500 won for the adults to get inside. However, if you are in a group then you need to pay only 400 won. For the youths and soldiers the entry fee is very less. They have to pay only 300 won. If they are in a group then they can pay 200 won. The entry fee, for the school children still in their elementary level and the senior citizens, over the age of 65 is free.

The Jeju Independence Museum is open from 9 in the morning to 6 in the evening. The Jeju Independence Museum remains closed in the first of January, in the Lunar New Year and the Harvest Moon Festival. You can visit the museum on Sundays as well, as it remains open in those days.

The Jeju Independence Museum complex also holds some beautiful monuments, which are pretty old. There is one problem though; all the explanations are in Korean language. So, either you need to learn Korean or you need to have somebody with you who knows Korean.
