Football in Kuwait

The State of Kuwait has been emerging as a soccer playing country in the second half of the last century. Extreme heat has made this country's weather an adverse one for sports. Football in Kuwait is booming now and the prospect is getting brighter day after day.

Kuwait has its own National Football Team. Kuwait Football Association is founded on 1952 though the journey had been started much before that. With the foundation of KFA proper infrastructure for world-class football came to existence in Kuwait. The affiliation of FIFA and AFC came for Kuwait in 1962, after a decade. Presently the President of Kuwait Football Association is Sheikh Ahmad Al Sabah.
