Feast of Maidens
Feast of Maidens is a cherished festival in Macau esopecially among the youth.Often
referred to as the Lovers' Festival, Feast of Maidens falls on the seventh day
of the seventh moon on the lunar calendar. As the name suggests the festival has
cavernous connotation for unmarried women.
Feast of Maidens festival is celebrated as a day in the year when according to fables the celebrated Heavenly Weaver meets her lover, the Cowherd, over a viaduct of birds straddling the Milky Way. The unmarried girls are supposed to find their prince charming and his love ion this day.
Equivalent to Valentine day, the Feast of Maidens is a day when young people in Macau express their love for each other.
