Macau Arts Festival is the most important tourist event organised by the public
authorities. Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macau SAR Government
presents the Macau Arts Festival is to be held between 5 May and 2 June 2007.
A flamboyant presentation of the best among the cultural performances of Macau
and the world, the festival is a true expression of the composite culture of Macau.
Macau Arts Festival offers the local artists, cultural associations and institutes
of Macau to display their best shows. By and large, the programme at the festival
includes concerts, dance, painting exhibitions, Chinese opera, theatre and many
other cultural shows. The significant component of the Arts festival in Macau
is the platform for showcasing cultural diversity of this former Portuguese
colony.
The Dramatic Arts are going to be the focal attraction at the 19th Macau Arts
Festival (MAF), celebrating the 100th anniversary of modern Chinese Theatre.
At the 18th version the Macao Chinese Orchestra took the center stage of the
cultural performances for its dance and song performances on the Great Wall
of China. More than 45 performers from Germany, Spain, Canada, Austria, Indonesia,
Mexico, France, Hungary and Portugal are scheduled top take part in this year's
festival. A long list of animation films and foreign and Chinese movies are
