Macau International Fireworks Display Contest is the most amazing exhibition of
lights in the world. A brainchild of the Macau's huge firecracker industry the
event draws pyrotechnic show teams from all over the world. Visitors are delighted
at the weekly shows with the ultimate climatic demonstration taking place on National
Day, 1 October
Organized by Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO), Macau International Fireworks
Display Contest has always been a colossal event. The display engulfs the sea
area across the Macau Tower. With 17 years of history, the Macau International
Fireworks Display Contest has gained universal recognition for the eminence
of the participating teams, the range and the performance standard of the contest.
The contest have participating teams from Germany, Chinese Taiwan, Korea, Thailand,
Portugal, Australia, United States of America, Japan, France and China. Every
team shows off its pyrotechnic wizardry to the spectators both from Macau and
overseas.
Macau International Fireworks Display Contest with its rich experiences and
unique features is sure to give audiences a colorful and memorable time. Since
last year, each partaking team was requested to harmonize their display with
music to captivate the audience with a light and sound extravagance. The teams
securing first, second and third position are to get US$6,000, US$3,200 and
US$1,800 respectively along with trophies and certificates.
Watch the night sky becoming lively with a magnificent display of fireworks
at the Macau International Fireworks Contest. The once a year exhibition also
attracts thousands of visitors to Macau during the competition period as the
sky lights up in a spectacular array of colors and light.
