Population of Macau is mostly Buddhist. More than 50% embrace Buddhism. Roman
Catholics constitute 15%. The average literacy is around 94.5%. Female literacy
is above 92%. Among the work force the highest number belong to wholesale and
retail trade, repair, hotels and restaurants (27.1%) followed by manufacturing
(16.4%), construction (8.3%) and financial services, real estate, and other
business activities (8.6%).
