Lou Lim Ieoc Garden in Macau is the most Chinese of all parks and gardens in Macau.
Built by Lou Kau, a prosperous 19th century Chinese trader the garden was renovated
by son Lou Lim Ieoc in 1906. Seeing magical charm of the garden, the authorities
restored it to present form in 1974.
Lou Lim Ieoc Garden in Macau is modeled on the famed classical Chinese gardens
of Soochow. Surrounded by a towering wall, it is a miniaturized landscape dotted
with narrow paths meandering through groves of bamboo and blossoming bushes.
The garden hosts many artificial concrete mountains. A large pond filled with
golden carp and lotus flowers also adorn the garden.
