Macau in Mandarin is located in Southeast China. The territory was administered by Portugal till the year 1999. Like Hong Kong, Macau is also a Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.

There are a few things that you should know about the place before visiting it. A few do's and don't are included in this article.

Do's
  -   Bargain when shopping for jewelry, antiques etc.
  -   Be careful of thieves and robbers
  -   Book your ferry ticket in advance if you plan to visit Macau on weekends

Don't
  -   Don't insult people in your native language
  -   Don't be very outspoken
  -   Don't get overly intimate in public
  -   Don't litter
  -   Don't drive without valid license
  -   Do not drink tap water. Use bottled or boiled water
