Malaysia - Langkawi - Kuala Lumpur - Penang
Located just north of the equator, Malaysia is a tropical country. There are over a thousand beautiful islands in this country that have become a favorite among tourists. Scattered all along the Malaysian coastline, the beautiful beaches with miles of fine sands are ideal for watching waves kissing the shores. The warm blue sea is home to some of the most colorful marine lives. Scattered between Sabah and Sarawak in the east and Peninsular Malaysia in the west, the 38 marine parks in this country offer sanctuary to millions of marine species. These parks and the warm waters of the South China Sea are ideal for scuba diving in Malaysia.

Loved by the scuba divers, the Malaysian waters offer many excellent dive sites. In fact, new diving sites are being discovered each year, thus adding to the list. Some of the best scuba diving spots in Malaysia are located in states like Sabah, Johor, Terengganu, Kedah, Pahang and Perak. Pulau Sipadan, Pulau Mataking, Pulau Sibu, Pulau Aur, Pulau Pangkor are some of the best diving spots in Malaysia.

The underwater ecological system in Malaysia evolved through millions of years and the warm crystal clear waters offer sanctuary to diverse species of marine animals. Scuba divers often swim along magnificent creatures such as the whale shark, dugongs, turtles, large rays and sea slugs.

The best scuba diving spot in Malaysia is located around Borneo. The warm waters are least polluted. This facilitates great visibility. Dive into the sea and watch hundreds of turtles swimming nearby. Swim along them and explore the lives of these magnificent reptiles. Apart from that, enjoy the experience of being mobbed by schools of colorful fishes that swim carelessly by your side.

The coral reefs are the main locations where harmless marine animals are found in abundance. Malaysia has series of reefs all along its coastline. The waters around Reading archipelago reef has the maximum visibility and this reef is home to some of the most exquisite marine animals. Reading archipelago is also the most un-spoilt reef.

The scuba diving in peninsular Malaysia is however not of that same standard. On course to the straights of Malacca, the water is polluted with huge ships cruising during all times of the day. The visibility is poor and often restricted to only a few meters. One thing is sure though, the warm waters make up for some really memorable scuba diving experience.
