Sepang Circuit

Sepang Circuit, Kuala Lumpur is a venue where Formula 1 championships are held. It is a racing track where hosts car races, motorbike races and races of a similar nature.

The Sepang Circuit or rather the Sepang International Circuit is a major sports venue for a large number of motor sports. It plays host to the Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix, A1 Grand Prix and the MotoGP Malaysian Grand Prix. The facilities and features of this fantastic venue make it an international standard motor sport of the city.

The circuit has a huge pit garage and a fantastic grandstand. The surface of the racing track is however a bit uneven. This is primarily because that racing rack was built on a former swampland. This huge circuit was designed by a German gentleman named Hermann Tilke. The main circuit is 5.54 kilometers long where one can race in a clockwise direction. The track is extremely wide and has rounded corners. The back straight of the track is separated from the pit straight by a single sharp bend. There is a two-storied pit building which houses 30 pits, a race control center, the administrative office, photographers center, media room, interview room and a medical center.

One can race in a clockwise direction in the northern part of the circuit. This part of the circuit is 2.71 kilometers long. It returns to the pit straight after the sixth turn of the track. The southern part of the whole circuit is 2.61 kilometers long and connects to the main track at the eighth turn. Over here it forms the hairpin bend with the main track. Here also you can drive in clockwise direction. There are close circuit cameras located in different parts of the track. There is a huge Canopy Tower located over here from where one can see most part of the track.

The Sepang Circuit, Kuala Lumpur is used for a variety of motor sports including go-karting and motocross. The facilities of this fantastic racing track have made it one of the major sports venues in Kuala Lumpur.
