The Kuala Lumpur International Airport is the main international airport of Malaysia. It is located in the Sepang district in the state of Selangor, nearly 50 kilometers from the capital of the country.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport started its operation from 27th June, 1998 onwards. The plan to build this grand airport began as early as 1990. The airport is maintained and operated Malaysia Airport and was designed by a Japanese architect named Kisho Kurokawa. The entire airport is surrounded by extensive greenery. The entire airport building along with its runaway occupies a space of 100 square kilometers. The airport has two runaways parallel to one another, each being 4000 meters long and 60 meters wide.
