The Orchid Park, or Taman Orkid as it is called, is located opposite the Bird Park. It is also a part of the Lake Gardens. As you leave the Bird Park behind and cross the road, you are face to face at the Taman Orkid or Orchid Garden. It is a hectare long floral paradise where you can admire the orchids and obtain tips on how to grow them. Situated on a scenic hilltop within the Lake Gardens, this is the nicest park in KL. You will see people jogging, playing ball and practicing tai-chi in the mornings. You will have to go up along the street to find the Taman Orkid. Tourists and locals alike take a stroll in the garden looking at stalls where you can also buy the blooming orchids and souvenirs. The garden remains open daily between 9 am to 6 pm. You can laze through the pergolas, delighting in the exotic blossoms of the flowers. Cut flowers are sold here on weekends, for the visitors who are looking for natural adornments for their homes. An adjoining section is devoted to the hibiscus, which is the national flower, showcasing more than 2000 varieties of hibiscuses. The garden attracts flower-aficionados from all over the world.
