Nestled at the Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, National Art Gallery, Kuala Lumpur was established in the year of 1958. This construction is considered to be National Heritage Trust. This gallery commenced with the donation of only four handiwork of as painter. In the contemporary phase the Art Museum is proud to present a collection of more than 2,500 art work and paintings. This Art Gallery houses numerous competitions, seminars and work shops for the budding painters of the country. The Art Gallery is a mesh of both the traditional and the contemporary piece of imagination translated into paper or clay forms. The gallery has extended its wings now with the Dayabumi Complex. It covers an area of 13,000 square meters comprising of five mammoth galleries, an auditorium, a café for refreshment, a resource center, an outdoor exhibition hall, a creative centre for workshop and an administrative building. The Art Gallery remains opened from 10 o’clock in the morning till 6 in the evening on weekdays. This place also preserves a huge collection of works of foreign and native people.
