Langkawi Cable Car

You will find the bubble-shaped Cable Car of Langkawi in the Burau Bay on the brink of the southwest coast of the main island. It is just 30 minutes and 15 minutes drive from Kuah Town and Langkawi International Airport respectively. The base station of the Langkawi Cable Car lies adjacent to the Oriental Village shopping center.From this base station the cable rises up by two towers and then up to the middle station. The ride from the second tower to the middle station feels like a vertical climb!
The cable car takes an exclusive L-shaped route over the scarp on Mount Machincang and the ancient rainforests offering you one of the world’s steepest slanting rides at 42°. In fact the Langkawi Cable Car boasts a of single rope cable car at 950 meters which is considered of the world’s longest free span.
This Langkawi Cable Car ride will exalt and entice you as you would you would feel like a bird, flying without wings! You would love to have a bird’s eye view of the spectacular lush landmass, the cragged mountains and the specks of blue from there! It is awe-inspiring and spell-binding! Especially when you are at the middle station, you get eyeshot of the Telaga Tujuh ('Seven Wells') waterfall located north of the cable car line,the Langkawi Bird Paradise, the lofty rock face named ‘Matahari Face’, the neighboring islands as well as the Tarutao Island in Thailand.
Admission Fee
The round-trip cable car fare for adults is -RM 15 (4.28 USD)
For children (3 to 10 years old) the fare is RM 5 (1.43 USD).
However, the ticket charges are subject to change without notice.
Timings
10am to 7pm (Thurs to Mon and public holiday)
11am to 7pm (Tues and Wed)
However timings are subject to changes or services may be curtailed due to weather variations.
