Langkawi Festivals & Events

Langwaki is not only endowed with a diversified nature, the island is also home to a wide assortment of festivals and events hosted throughout the year. It has on its platter a whole range of eminent cultural festivals to key sporting events which makes the place all the more vibrant.

Being located amidst the blue ocean the island holds both the National and International Water festival where the visitors are bound to experience some very exciting and fun filled aquatic games simultaneously with other events.

The Sukma Pre Sailing and Sailing competition is another milestone event of the island. This competition is a very friendly contest where participation and appreciation are both on a very superficial level. The event is meant for entertaining the islanders as well as the tourists.

The Wilderness Langwaki Challenge is a conglomeration of three grueling games of Cycling, Kayaking and Running. This competition is really electrifying and the competitors ahs to have huge stamina in order to participate in it.

The Pelangi Cup International Golf Open Championships and the unique but knowledge enhancing Fire Extinguishing Competitions are really worth watching.

Apart form the above mentioned festivals and events The Chinese New Year, the National Day (31st August) , the Malaysia Fest, Deepavali, Christmas and Hari Raya Aidil Fitri are also some of the eminent events of Langkawi which are celebrated with equal pomp and show like the aforesaid ones.
