Langkawi International Water Festival

The Langkawi International water festival is perhaps the biggest event of this tiny island. This annual event going on since 2002 features a wide display of water sports. The events include Island-to-Island Kayak Race, Underwater Treasure Hunt, Tug of War, Beach Netball, Building Sandcastle Competition, Fishing Competition and Cooking Competition - mutually controlled by the Langkawi Tourism Action Council and the Ministry of Tourism of Langkawi.

The umpteen stalls at the festival are the chief attraction of the fiesta. These stalls emphasizes on various hydro - activities and put up a show of the various up- to -date innovations evolved by the several public and private companies. The festival takes place at Telega harbour Park at Pontai Kok. The tranquil Cenang Beach at Kedah will witness the various water sports to be played in this event.
