Langkawi has numerous beaches to its credit and unique among them the Pasir Hitam Beach, Langkawi. Have you seen a beach, which is black, then you must come here to see for yourself the blemished beauty. In Pasir Hitam beach, is to the west of Pantai Tanjung Rhu you can ascertain whether the remnants of the war are still there, between the Garuda and Jentayu- Hero's from the past. The beach holds an ambience of mystery and tranquility. The beach is unusually black with shades of white interspersing giving it a rare look. The whole beach does not carry the black look; some have the normal mixture of sands sprinkling some parts. The color is not due to some volcanic residue rather it is due to the rich mineral mixture of the place mainly due to the iron oxide! You can drive into the Pasir Hitam Beach as there is only one road connecting it to the main city center. It is very near the Craft Cultural Complex. While you are driving to the Pisar Hitam Do not forget to take some snaps in the old fishing Jetty.
