The Labuan International Sea Challenge in Malaysia runs for a week and this challenge draws participants from all around the globe to the shores of this beautiful country.
There are four different categories in the Labuan International Sea Challenge. The categories are: Rolex IGFA International Game Fishing Tournament, Cross Channel Swimming Challenge, Labuan International Extreme Kayak Challenge, Round Island Kayak Challenge.
The Rolex tournament is a prestigious deep sea fishing competition. Considered as one of the most challenging tournaments in the world, ace fishers compete with each other for the glory and trophy.
A major event in the Labuan International Sea Challenge is obviously the Cross Channel Swimming tournament. The contestants are required to swim 5.4 km in the open sea towards Pulau Papan and swim back to Luban. The local and the international contestants compete with each other to set a new record.
Regarded as one of the longest and toughest in the world, the Labuan International Extreme Kayak Challenge spans a distance of 84 km in the open sea. This back breaking challenge starts from Labuan and after touching Sipitang ends at the starting point . The last category in the Labuan International Sea Challenge in Malaysia features the Round Island challenge. With a 50 km long course, this challenge tests the skill of experienced kayakers.
