Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix

Malaysia is fast becoming a great venue for the motorcycle sport enthusiasts. The yearly Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, held mainly at Sepang International circuit, is an important event in this country’s sporting calendar. This sporting competition sees a month full of heart pumping racing action.

Situated 60 km south of Kuala Lumpur, the Sepang International racing Circuit hosts the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand prix in the month of September. This month long motorcycle racing competition sees participation of major international riders. Tickets are sold at a very reasonable price and special weekend passes are sold at 10 Ringgit (Malaysian currency). However the price of the passes may go up to 50 Ringgits.

Apart from Sepang circuit, other famous Malaysian racing circuits include Johor and Shah Alam. The Malaysian Motorcycle Grand prix is so popular that sponsors of international repute like Lucky Strike, Marlboro, Cahaya Ala and Gauloises have had in the past associated themselves with this prestigious tournament.

The Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix which was held in the year 2006 at the Sepang International Circuit, was won by Valentino Rossi of Italy. The previous year’s championship title was won by Loris Capirossi of Italy. The year 2007 also promises a thrilling competition.
