Seremban is the capital of Negeri Sembilan and lies in a mountainous region. There are more than 160,000 inhabitants known to reside here. A few public buildings reveal the characteristics traits of Minangkabau architecture, recognizable by steep, pointed, and curving roof gables. The place has little to boast of to support active tourism.
The town of Seremban came into existence with only two rows of shop houses. These shops were built for the mining community. It has bloomed rapidly since the transportation system development such as the railway service connected the Seremban to major destinations of Malaysia. Seremban Railway Station was built in 1924 and is one of the major attractions in the town.
Seremban has much to offer in terms of tourist attractions. Some of the popular tourist attractions include the Lake Gardens where there are two lakes surrounded by greenery and very popular among nature lovers. This is an ideal place for a family outing. The State Mosque is another attraction situated at Jalan Dato' Hamzah and comprises of nine poles that represent the 9 provinces in Negeri Sembilan. The State Library built in 1912, as the State's Secretariat building is a fine example of colonial architecture. Other prominent attractions include the Secretariat Building and the Cultural Arts Center.
Port Dickson is a popular beach which lies about 33 km to the West of Seremban. Port Dickson is a popular beach that lies on the shores of Malacca. This resort town boasts of miles of golden beaches and a wide range of accommodation. Port Dickson also plays host to the annual Pesta Port Dickson or PD Fiesta between July and August. The Fiesta offers all sorts of fun and games as well as sea sports activities.
The cuisine in Seremban in Malaysia is quite impressive. You could try out some of the traditional dishes offered by the locals such as beef rending, a dish where beef is cooked in rich spices and coconut. Another dish you could try is gulai lemak cili api (tumeric gravy with chilli).
