Kuala Selangor Nature Park in Malaysia is situated in the pretty, peaceful town of Kuala Selangor on the banks of the scenic Selangor River. The Nature Park is one of the major attractions in the town of Kuala Selangor.

The nature park in Kuala Selangor is developed and maintained by the Malaysian Nature Society under a cooperative arrangement with State Government of Selangor. During the months of September and March, which usually happens to be the season of migration, the lakes and ponds are filled with shorebirds such as plovers, Greenshank, Redshank and various species of sandpiper traveling the migration route of the East-Asian Flyway. These migratory birds then head south to Australia.

A bird that deserves special mention is the Milky Stork. An active breeding program is conducted with Zoo Negara in a specially constructed aviary next to the main lake. Visitors are not allowed inside the aviary but the birds are clearly visible nesting in the enclosure. It is a hope and popular belief that upon release of these captive-bred storks so that they will choose Kuala Selangor as their permanent home.

Kuala Selangor Nature Park in Malaysia has over 200 hectares of secondary immature forest. You could take a walk along the well worn trail where the sun streams through and breaks in the canopy. While you take a walk, keep an eye open for the lizards and shrinks warming themselves. You would also come across popular forest birds such as woodpeckers, bulbuls, sunbirds and malkohas.

Visitors at the Kuala Selangor Nature Park in Malaysia are sure to come across the Slivered Leaf Monkey also known as the Silver Langur. Troops of these large, grey-black, long-tailed monkeys can be heard crashing through the trees, scaring away the more timid bird species. The monkeys also scare the guests living at the base of Bukit Melawati at the northern edge of the park where they come in search of ripened fruits.
