Pedu Lake, Malaysia
Malaysia - Langkawi - Kuala Lumpur - Penang
Pedu Lake is also the ideal destination for enjoying a wide array of activities and sports. The crystal clear waters of the lake will allow you to participate in activities like jet ski, canoe, water-ski and windsurf. Other activities in the lake include golf, fishing, camping and bird watching. Pedu Lake also offers you the opportunity to opt for jungle trekking in the inner depths of the jungle surrounding the Pedu Lake.
The lake and its adjoining areas is also home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Some of the animals that you can see in the verdant forests surrounding the lake are elephants, deer, wild boar, leopards, birds, bats, flying foxes and different types of insects. The forests of the area also house a special breed of "albino snakes" and if you are lucky enough, you might be able to catch a rare glimpse of the snake. For the benefit of wildlife lovers, hides and canopy walks have been constructed in the forest, so that visitors can conveniently watch the wild animals from distance.
Thus the Pedu Lake has made immense contributions to ecotourism in Malaysia
and the Kedah Government has transformed a part of the lake into a wildlife
sanctuary.
