Redang Island, Malaysia

The island boasts of 500 species of live corals, more than thousand species of invertebrates and about 3000 species of fishes, which include manta rays, stingrays, sharks and whale sharks, all of which live in harmony in the reefs skirting the islands.

There are numerous attractions in the island which include different diving spots, shipwrecks near Pinang Island, black coral garden and Mini Mount. The waters of Redang feature two historic shipwrecks. One of the shipwrecks is H.M.S Prince of Wales and the other is H.M.S. Repulse, both of which sunk during the WWII, thus laying the foundations for the Japanese occupation of Malaya. Besides these, Redang Island is also home to some of the finest beach destinations of the country. The beaches of the island are known for their spectacular natural beauty and numerous activities.
