Taiping Lake, Perak, Malaysia is one of the biggest and most beautiful parks in the country. This 62-hectare park is also one of the oldest lakes of the country and it has been operational since 1880. Taiping Lake boasts of spectacular natural beauty, the lake is surrounded by a colorful profusion of flowers and features a spacious gazebo. It also houses the Taiping Zoo, the oldest zoo of Malaysia. Actually the entire area was a tin mine, but later on the mine was transformed into a lake surrounded by a beautiful park. The lake of the park is actually the old mining pool, which was later rebuilt and redesigned to form the lake. The lake along with the surrounding areas of lush greenery represents a good sense of environmental rehabilitation and preservation.
