Features of Jubilee Clock Tower in Penang
The Moorish style clock tower is 60 feet in height and behind the tower one can have a view of the wall surrounding fort Cornwallis.
The clock tower was build to mark the Diamond Jubilee year of Queen Victoria. The Clock tower comprises of four tiers and the clock is placed in the third tier.
The very first tier is octagonal in shape supported by a square base. The second and third tiers are rounded off by arch and domed cupola.
The Clock tower incorporates Moorish design styles like arches, horse shoe arched openings, domes and balconies.
The Pristine white colored clock tower resembles a minaret and is very artistic.
