Penang Road with its impressive line of buildings is a lengthy historic road comprising upscale restaurants, karaoke joints, bars, discotheques, pubs, and vogue boutique and antique shops. It has been developed into a precinct where people can have their entertainment, dining and shopping.

Till the early eighties, the northern seaward portion of Penang Road was better known as the place to get some of the best bakery in town. Since then, it has come a long way.
