Considered as the cradle of the Malay culture, Kelantan is one of the many states in Malaysia. Located in the north-eastern corner of Malaysia, this culturally rich state with its capital at Kota Bharu, has been home to some of the most recent archaeological discoveries in this country. This beautiful state offers tourists a lot of sightseeing venues. With mountains, river and a cache of archaeological relics scattered al over, sightseeing in Kelantan offers so much to the travelers visiting Malaysia.

The Cultural Centre in Kelantan is a great sightseeing locale for tourists. You can see the traditional arts such as kite flying, rebana (giant drums), over sized spinning tops and other things. Apart from that, you can also witness the performers displaying the indigenous martial art (known as silat) of Kelantan. The venue remains open during February to October. This sightseeing place in Kelantan attracts many tourists.

The Buluh Kubu Central Market bursts with activity during daytime. This is probably one of the most photographed sightseeing places in Kelantan, Malaysia.

If you are into adventure, you should then bring your mountain climbing gears to Kelantan. With a height of 1422 meters, the Gunung Stong is the highest mountain here. If you think it is just another mountain, then you are wrong. It is believed that a cache of gold and other precious metals were hidden in Gua Ikan (the fish cave) by the Japanese as part of the booty during the Second World War. The cave derives its name from its fish like structure. The cave attracts the treasure seekers from all parts of the globe.

Away from the adventure, the nice pristine beaches here offer an attractive alternative. You can spend all the day soaking up the sun and watching the waves breaking on the sea shore. The Pantai Cahaya Bulan Beach is located just 10 km away from the capital and is a favorite among the tourists for much earned leisure.

Regarded as the most beautiful beach in Kelantan, the Pantai Irama is frequented by picnickers and campers.

There are a lot of waterfalls too in beautiful Kelantan. The majestic waterfalls like Jeram pasu, Jeram Lenang, feature on the top priority list of travelers’ sightseeing itinerary in Kelantan. Located at Kampong Padang Pak Amat, this gurgling waterfall has crystal clear waters. This natural waterfall is the most popular one in the area.

The highest waterfall in this area is however the Lata Beringin waterfall. The road leading to this 120 meter high waterfall progresses along a dirt track. With lush surroundings, this waterfall is a favorite camping spot.
