Hear the sensational buzz of airplanes in Australian International Air Show at the Avalon Airport. See a wide array of aeroplanes and also watch the daredevil exploits of pilots. According to the airshow organizers, the Australian International AirShow is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.

Date and time: The Australian International Air Show is held in every 2 years in the month of March. In the year 2007 the show will be held from 20th to 25th March.

Venue: The Avalon Airport near Geelong in Australia.

Tickets to the show: The tickets can be booked online or from the TicketMaster group by contacting 03 9685 2477. Also, Box offices at the gate would be open for the purchasing of tickets during the show days. The price of each ticket is presumably Aus$150.00.

Events to watch: The Australian International Air Shows are always theme based. While in 2005 the theme of the show was ‘The Shape of Things to Come’, in 2007 the theme for the show is ‘Breaking the Barriers’. It will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the breaking of the sound barriers - the defeat of sound speed by the fast flying aircrafts!

- Watch out for a wide range of military airplanes which would include the F-111 Strike Bombers, BAE Hawks and many others.
- See the awe-inspiring stunts of great pilots! This will include solo acts as well as group performances. Jurgis Kairys, the famous stunt pilot would visit the 2007 Australian International AirShow.
- Amazing Parachute displays.
- Several other flight displays ranging from Spitfire and Mustang of World War - II to the groundbreaking Korean and Vietnam eras.
- Eye catching exhibition of replicas of airplanes.
- A career counseling and training program would be set up by the Aerospace Australia Limited which would provide valuable information to all those who are eager to touch the sky! The career showcase would be held from 23rd to 25th March.

Parking Facilities: Parking is available on site.

Transportation: The venue can be accessed both by Railway and Bus. V/line will provide a cost-effective and easy way to the AirShow. A shuttle bus service will connect the Airshow site with the Lara Railway Station. You can also avail the busses running from Melbourne and Geelong to the venue. The Bus Association Victoria provides this service for visitors.
