The most prominent cave in Morocco is Hercules Cave, Tangier in Morocco. This is a strikingly magnificent cave situated in Tangier in the north –western extremity of Africa’s Atlantic coast. This cave has been used by humans time and again for various purposes. This cave shows signs of dwelling since the Neolithic times, as evident from the bones and flints that have been excavated from the caves. Little later it was used for quarrying stones by the locals and in the 20th century it was used as brothels till tourism and caving in Morocco emerged as a more lucrative venture in the cave
The Hercules Cave is a popular place for caving in Morocco because of its great beauty and archeological interest. There are other caves around this cave like the Al Alia Cave, Al Khil Cave, and the Cave of Ace Sayfia. All these caves also contain rich pre historic remains from the Neolithic times and indeed ideal for caving in Morocco.
