Agadir Population

Morocco - Essaouira - Fez - Marrakech - Agadir

Agadir is a part of Southwest Morocco and belongs to the continent of Africa. The locale is placed at the foothills of Atlas Mountains and Atlantic Ocean, the river Souss runs along the city. The city has come a long way from a fishing village to a prosperous Port city. Tracing its lineage, we see the city has passed through several hands and still retained its originality. The colonial expansion and the lure of power have made Morocco a soft target time and again.

In 1960, when earthquakes erased Agadir, half of the city population was destroyed. The Population of the urban city is 200,000, while taking the whole area then population count reaches to almost 678,596 according to the recent census. The city has mainly Muslim believers; nevertheless, there are Catholic Romans as well as the Jewish communities sharing equable space in the city. As the country is Muslim, so women travelers should make it a point not to wear clothing that are revealing in nature, care should be taken that ankles and upper halves of the hand should be covered, failing to do so would hurt the pious sentiment of the otherwise genial inhabitants! Gays and lesbians have no problem visiting the country, only care should be taken not to indulge in overt displays of affection publicly.
