Agadir has developed from a fishing village to a prosperous fishing Port. In fact, it has become the largest fishing port of Morocco. The port is house to a large contingent of fishing vessels, wooden boats better known as dinghies and more accompaniments from south to battle the fishing scenario. The region boasts of economic developments due to its aggressive Fishing industry. The geographical contours play a huge part to this accomplishment, as the coastline is furnished with Sardines. The canning industry a by product of the Fishing industry has ensured jobs to countless localites.

Agadir is a busy port imbibing the typical Moroccan flavor in terms of its ambience and rich scenario. While strolling at a lazy pace you can get an eye full of the fishermen at work, displaying arrays of iridescent fishes in huge quantity

Small smelly wooden boats are parked for a good tan, with nets put up for drying and repair. The scene is replete with the selling of the fishes in strange litanies of foreign tongue, the laughter and easy banter slowly takes the pressure of city Life away from you. Do not shy away now without looking at the Fish Auction, a unique feature of Moroccan coast starts every day at 4-5 am and gets over by 7-8am. Tons of fish are weighed and sold off to the highest bidder, with the catch including mackerel, gray sea bream, congers, goatfish, pink shrimp, brown moray and Sardines.
