Amtoudi Peak Agadir

Agadir has some beautiful mountains located in and around the city. The most offbeat and unique is the Amtoudi Peak, which is perhaps one of the best tourist attractions of Morocco. Amtoudi has one of the best-conserved granary or Agadir in it. The Agadir is no longer in use but it has become a site of eminence. It was actually the bandits who used to store resources for themselves in order to satisfy them in their hard times. The Agadir at Amtoudi Peak is nearly 800 hundred years old.

Reaching the peak is an experience in itself, because either you need to trek the narrow trail or have to hire a mule or a donkey to carry you upto the peak. The climb up the mountain is definitely not pleasurable for normal tourists. The trail from where the mule carries you up is as narrow as 20-30cms and a single wrong step will lead you into serious trouble. But be rest assured as the mule and its owner are used to the way so they know how to tackle. After climbing a bit the anxiety will move away when the Agadir becomes visible in front of your eyes. After reaching the peak spend some time stretching your joints and then plunge yourself in internalizing the awesome splendor of the valley.
