Tafraoute is perhaps the most spectacular site of Agadir. Located about one hundred and thirty kilometers away from the main city the landscape of Tafraoute is breathtaking. The place is surrounded by mountains of pink granite, which radiates a purplish hue around. The thousands of palm trees and the Berber village all looks splendid with such an amazing backdrop. The region is very prosperous because of its prosperity. The villages around Tafraoute are interesting to explore. Three kilometers south of Tafraoute there is a startling rock formation called the Napolean’s Hat, where there are blue painted rocks said to be done by the Belgian artist Jean Veran. The color has now faded out but the remnants seem to attract art lovers a lot. Tafraoute’s beauty is indescribable. You can spend hours looking at the pink tinted mountains and wonder at their exclusivity and beauty. A whole day can be spent here watching out the beauties of the vicinity. Its considered as a mountain oasis because its surrounde by a thick foliage which makes it all the more different. Tafraoute lies at the bosom of Anti – Atlas. The old Kasbahs around have now evolved and has a lot of modern accommodation facilities around for the tourists.
