Agadir is a place where sports is an important part of the daily life. As we know the Moroccans are sports lovers and indulge in various categories of sports . Both land and water sports are equally popular among the common people.

Sunbathing and watersports are the two most well accepted sports of the city and the Agadir Beach is the venue for it. Apart from the above mentioned water sports Agadir also has visitors golf courses, tennis clubs , horse riding, and boat trips out to the emerald sea.

Agadir will soon have an awesome multi - use stadium called Stade d'Agadir which is presently under construction. By the end of 2007 the stadium will be ready to use. It will accommodate more than 40,000 people and primarily used for playing football matches. Once it becomes functional it will be the most important sports venue of Agadir.

The best golfing venues of the city are the Agadir Royal Golf Club, Dunes Golf Club, And Golf Du Soleil. You can try out golfing in any one of these courses while hanging out in the city.

For skiing , Oukaiden, at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains is the best venue. The powdery snow provides you with the opportunity of Alpine skiing. This place is also apt for mule - skiing during the months of February to April. The Jebel Toubkal in Agadir along with the Atlas and Anti atlas mountains are supposedly the best pony trekking venues of Agadir.

Most of the big hotels have tennis courts within their premises along with squash courts , swimming pool and basketball courts. There are six clay courts in Agadir which offers the visitors to spend sometime within the playing zone.
