Millions of tourists visit Morocco every year, attracted by the equitable climate,
the rich and vibrant culture and the many tourist attractions. Shopping is high
on the average tourist's agenda as Morrocco holds out a plentitude of shopping
options. Coveted and good quality items and inexpensive costs are the hallmark
of shopping in Agadir, Morocco. Among the three famed markets of Agadir, the Central
Market stands out. Agadir's Central Market is known for the high volumes
of spice trade that takes place here every day. Fresh and highly aromatic spices
are bought and sold here in high quantities. The colorful mounds of spices heaped
in the stalls make quite a sight.
The fragrant condiments and spices traded here are indigenous produces. Paprika,
Chilly, Oregano, Thyme, Pepper, Curry, Rosemary, Lavender, Coriander, Cinnamon
and Saffron are among the many spices on sale here. These are available both
in a fine powdered form and also as seeds and herbs etc. Herbal oils such as
eucalyptus oils are also readily available. Tourists may be baffled to see the
names of the spices and other items displayed in French. However this will not
seem strange considering that French is one of the official languages of Morocco.
