The street shops of Agadir sell most of the coveted wares in the city. The
three main shopping centers of Agadir are the Suk, the Marche Municipal and
Agadir's Central Market. The Suk is a many-entranced common market place. The
bright and attractive bazaar is forever bustling with traders and vendors and
the lined shops hold all your requirements starting from clothes to jewellery,
handicrafts to footwear. The traders are slightly aggressive and tend to advertise
their wares but are friendly and enjoy a good banter. Bargaining is easy here
and is the norm. Tourists also frequent the Marche Municipal, the market place
lined with shops and enclosed by walls.
The pricing here is slightly higher than the Suk as most of the people who
shop here are international tourists. The Marche Municipal is located between
the Des Far and Sifi Mohammad avenues and is an excellent place to buy leather
products. Le Medina d'Agadir Cocco Polizzi is another shopping arcade built
by an Italian architect. Popularly known as the Medina of Cocco Polizzi, this
market is an attempt to give the artisans a direct contact with the buyers.
The Central Market is another of the bazaars loved by tourists and shoppers
at Agadir.
