Casablanca, which is wonderful city, settled in Morocco is twined in harmony with several festivals that is celebrated all through the year. As per the Moroccan calendar, the natives resort to specific celebrations of local festivals that are participated by all irrespective of caste, creed and religion. The month of January is known for hosting the Independence Celebration, while the February month rejoices the Tafraoute festival with the end to the winter rains along with welcoming white budding flowers on almond trees. The Aid Al Adha or Aïd el-Khebir festival observes a tribute feast for Abraham's Sacrifice. Rose Festival is yet another Festival of Casablanca that is hosted annually. June is the season of musical festival along with the Independence Day from Spanish dominion that is illustrious with loads of functions like storytelling, acrobats, horse cavalcades and others. Apart from this the area celebrates the Marrakesh Popular Arts Festival during the month of July, the Asilah Arts Festival in August, the Imilchil Brides' Fair along with Marrakech Folk Music Festival in September, the Date festival in October, the popular Ramadan fasting in November and last but not the least Hajj Day during the December month. Casablanca is particularly known for its International Festival of Video Art and for hosting its International Film Festival, Amazigh Theatre Festival and Rawafid Festival. The region is open to concerts, open-air film screenings and street theatres that one can frequently come across with.
