The Old City is located just a little faraway from main town square of Casablanca. Along with a very contrasting architecture, there are wonderful opportunities for shopping in Old City, Casablanca. Also known as Ancienne Medina, the best part of the city comprises of shopping areas.

A variety of products is sold here. Although the city lacked in color and elegance, the souvenirs you would get here would of the best quality. Winding alleys will lead you to the bazaar or to the market. You would find vendors selling fruits on their carts. From meat, seafood, vegetables, and fruits, the markets sell a variety of goods to meet the daily requirements of the local people.

There are shops selling antiques and decorative items in the market. The beautiful beads jewelries are worthy of collecting. They have their own Moroccan essence. Antique coins and wooden carved show pieces are available in large quantity.

While shopping in Casablanca, you must remember two things. There would be many vendors and shopkeepers who would give you a cheap quality product at a very high price. So, firstly, don't forget to check whether the product is worthy of purchasing and then do bargain with the shopkeepers. Otherwise you may be charged double for a duplicate artifact.
